BOY OR GIRL: IT DOES MATTER
July 23rd 2010 01:42
More and more couples are going overseas to use IVF technology to select the sex of their baby.
A Melbourne mother two weeks ago made headlines saying she would do the same.

It doesn't matter to me, it sounds clichéd, but as long as he/she is healthy, that's what's important to me.

My cousin said she just wanted her son to be a good person when he grows up.
My uncle countered with, "he could be a good person and still end up as a bum on the street".
It can all get a bit crazy after a while.

I think mines a girl. Kman thinks its a boy. Neither of us 'wish' ither way, its like a running bet.
Of course now Im getting the ridiculous....'you popped out early....had no morning sickness....It must be a boy'
Who cares? Ive got a name picked for both.
But I'll tellya what we say in the horse industry, where gender disappiontment is VERY real and FINANCIALLY CRIPPLING (I have a stallion. He was supposed to be a girl)
"Change yer stud(stallion)"

Everyone told me during my first pregnancy that I was having a boy, turns out it was a girl.
Blah to those theories. They drive me batty.
Do they do things to try ensure male horses are born?

I tried for SIX YEARS to get a little girl for my foundation mare. The last foal she had is the perfect bloodline, and she was damaged and I wont risk her life trying again. So, if I am going to go on I had to change my breeding plan to accomodate a stallion instead of a mare.
A few grand and five years later I have a beautiful registered arabian stallion, and lucky for me he's laid back and gentle instead of agressive and hyper (like his brothers) and now I cant believe I wanted a girl. I love my boy to bits. Yes I spend more but he also has a greater earning potential, so it all works out.
The day before I found out I was pregnant I was grooming and cuddling him and he suddenly looked at my tummy and zoomed his ears in like little antennas. He had a big nuzzle like, "Somethings in there!" Thats when I thought, it might be true.
