QUOTATIONS ABOUT MEN, BY WOMEN VI

January 23rd 2007 02:30
If men can run the world, why can't they stop wearing neckties? How intelligent is it to start the day by tying a little noose around your neck?

Hi Melissa,

It is good isn't it? And what's even more stupid, I don't think I've come across a man who actually enjoys wearing them.

Ah men, boggles the mind.

Hey Mrs M,

I'm afraid I'll have to be the odd one out.

I love wearing suits! It probably has alot to do with my Dad being a white collar worker, so I'm sure the young kid admiration is rubbing off somewhere there...

It probably is also reinforced by me working in a suit stored for a while whilst studying at uni...

However for me nothing matches the feeling of wearing a gorgeous tailored suit that fits me like a hug...

The tie is just part and parcel of that.

Unfortunately I'd look a bit odd rocking up to work in one nowadays, jeans and tees seem to be the status quo!

Hi Mrs M,

That's a good one to throw back at men when they say how impractical women are wearing high heels.

I had to wear a tie at secondary school and we all hated them - boys and girls!

Hi Stuart,

I was going to say, I don't see many editors donning the suit and tie.

But I do have to say that a man can look schmick in a tailored suit - very nice indeed.

Hi Candice,

I was thinking the exact same thing about the heels. But we don't claim and men don't credit us with ruling the world so there's my excuse for wearing the torture shoe.

Thanks for the visit and the comments.

Love your quote blog ...

Women should run the world wearing pearl necklaces ... and I'm prepared to supply the beads to every one of them ... ***

Neckties should be outlawed.
The strangle the brain and constrict blood flow.
That is why so many people in Canberra can't think.

It is soo true !! We do tie nooses around our necks!!

It's a death wish, I know. Someone should tell private school principles. make them call it a little noose not a tie.

I did love that quote. And i wish you could ban all ties. Maybe women should run the world. They seem to be more intelligent... moody, but intelligent

Nah, I love women. You ladies are all right !

I read somewhere that 2/3 of men buy their shirts with the necks too small, causing all kinds of discomfort and various problems. Could this also be true for ties?
I went to a private school, and I was jealous that the guys got to wear ties - at least they got something with a design on it!

I don't like wearing ties, either, though I think I look good in a suit.

Hi Anthony,

We may be moody, but even moody women get things done

Hi Claire,

2/3 of men? That's crazy. I never had to wear ties at school but you're right, they do add a bit of colour, maybe not school ties, but business ties

Hi Cibby,

If you do say so yourself Personally I prefer suits without ties. I insisted that my husband not where a tie when we got married. Didn't have to ask him twice.

Thanks for the visit and the comments everyone.
