DO YOU NEED ORDER IN YOUR LIFE?

August 17th 2007 03:14
Or do you take a more relaxed approach? Wait to see what the day brings you? Maybe you'll do this, or maybe you'll do that?

Well all I can say is that at the moment, this relaxed approach is stressing me out. I can't take it anymore. I think this is the reason I feel so out of control at the moment. I thought having order in my life was stressful, but for me, this is worse.

I need order in my life; it's just who I am. I have found that I am not accomplishing anywhere near the amount I had been in the past. And that is frustrating me.

There will be order in my house and that's it.

I will be in bed by 11pm.
I will visit the gym on regular days.
I will Orble for a nominated time and no more. (But you people write so much good stuff...stop it!)

However, I will not fill my every waking moment with something to do.
I will not find more 'projects' to do.
I will use time my effectively and efficiently.

I will spend more time with my family....between the hours of 2pm and 4pm every second Sunday....just kidding....we'll make it every third Sunday.

I suppose this is the reality of having a family. You just can't get by on 'whatever'.

I hope having a routine will make those lazy Sundays even more blissful and relaxing.

I need a perfect blend of order and relaxation. Mum needs everything ordered to the second, which I cant stand. On property youve got to be flexible. Magnus broke down the gate(by trying to jump it) over 2 months ago. We said we'd fix it right away....It was only 2 weeks ago I finally bought the new hinges, but they're not on yet!
I have a semi set routine. I need the routine so the jobs all get done but I have to be able to break it. Since I try so hard and barely ever get a second of 'me time' anyway, Ive decided to take it all at a relaxed pace.
What I wouldnt give to just have a week that was mine.

Order is good.

It's when it all goes awry - that's when you just have to take a deep breath and (as the young people say) 'chllaxe'.

Yep - there's probably some deep seated reason for why some of us need it and some of us don't, why some of us are tidy and some - well - a little more casual in thier outlook.

Takes all.

Cheers

Hi Mrs M, I'm what people like to call control freak. Although I have mellowed a little - I used to schedule everything BY THE MINUTE. Now, I just come up with a To Do List per day. It gives me a sense of accomplishment when I put a cross through what I've done.

How casual was that - even forgot to complete my sign in (see comment above) - damn - does that mean a need a little more order and regiment in my life?

Mr Nice indeed

Hmmmm

Hi Mrs M

I`m definitely not a lover of structure and order. Monotony for me is like hearing nails scratched across a chalk board.

I suppose we all need a certain amount of structure and order or the world would be in chaos, but personally I like to be free to do what I choose when I choose.

I hope your world gets a little less chaotic soon!

Hi Mrs M,

I have lived both ways and I think that when you are single, you can have a certain measure of "going with the flow" without detriment to too many brain cells... but I gree with you... after a while, well, it;'s just plain... boring.

However, when you are married with children, order is required. Children require structure and as role models, parents need to give it. You should see me now since I started home schooling... *slapping my firehead* ..OMG I'm almost anally rretentive... but not quite : and there-in lies the skill and fine balancing of ordered structure and overkill vs aimless meandering *lol* *I crack myself up* ...a sure sign of my need for some disorder I'd say?

*twitch, twitch*

Hi Mrs M

I must admit I like a little order but I hate feeling stressed about things and find that being more casual works best for me.

I'm one of those people on the street that everyone else curses because I don't walk fast enough ... I disrupt other people's routine!!!

No pressure is good. And with a baby in the house again, any order that did exist has flown out the window!

Have a lovely, unordered weekend.

If I've got stuff that has to get done on a deadline, I use check-off lists like Aimzster. Otherwise, I try to play it by ear.

My default is lazy and non-ordered. Knowing that of myself, I have to effort, er...effort. And I do. Too much order sucks. Some order is constructive, I have learned to justify.

Hi All,

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond to your comments. Obviously I'm not yet as organised as I would like

Hi Kleonaptra,

What I wouldnt give to just have a week that was mine.
Oh I hear ya on this one.

I think you're right. You do need a combination of order and relaxation. Dependants certainly don't always follow the plan now do they?

Hi Damo,

You don't give any orders?

Hi Mr Nice Guy,

Obviously you don't need to "chllaxe" any more

Hi Aimzster,

It gives me a sense of accomplishment when I put a cross through what I've done. Oh yeah, definitely. Nothing bugs me more than when Mr M says so what did you do today and I draw a blank. I know I'm tired because I haven't stopped but don't remember what I've done Aaaaarrrrggghhhh.

Hi Ash,

personally I like to be free to do what I choose when I choose.

That person sounds so much cooler than the organised person....I wish I could be that cool person

Hi Lilla,

You're homeschooling. I knew you'd do it. I know I haven't graduated to that level of organisation so good on you.

I don't want to fall into the trap of being "too organised" but I do feel like I need to show my kids some order...if nothing else than to also learn how to organise themselves.

Hi Andrea,

And with a baby in the house again, any order that did exist has flown out the window!
That was a bit of a learning curve for me. Not so much with my first baby because I had just finished working so no order was good but by the time the second and third came around there were others to consider. Yeah, I found it a bit tricky.

Hi D,

My problem is that I have yet to find the perfect system to keep on top of things so I generally I have 5 different lists in 5 different places. Oh yeah, I'm organised.

Hi Mis,

I often wonder whether I was always the "organised" type of person but that side of my personality didn't surfaced until I had kids OR I developed that organised part of my personality because of the kids.

Hi Deorre,

Too much order sucks. Some order is constructive, I have learned to justify.
I need to find that balance. I think I'd find myself wasting too much time justifying. I have no idea what I'm doing LOL.

Thanks everyone for the visit.

Love & stuff
Mrs M

Ive just had very bad experiences trying to order things - I'll say "Right, this will be done by such time, then I can do that....If it all goes to plan I can have an hour free" Never happens. Better to take 5 when I can.
